Mighty Marathon Man Mark
Dublin-based West of Ireland man, Mark Scanlon (not the cyclist), is running seven marathons, in seven months, in seven continents in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. He is doing it all in honour of his late Dad.
He has completed five marathons in five different continents since July 29th when he ran the first in San Francisco Marathon, and he is undertaking the horrendous Ice Marathon in the Antarctic on December 12th, before he moves on to the Mumbai Marathon in India on January 20th 2008.
